Hot and Dangerous Newest Juvenile Winner for BLAME

For the second straight day, a BLAME juvenile impressed when Hot and Dangerouswon her first start on the turf at Ellis Park on Monday.

Racing over one mile in the Maiden Special Weight, the Brian Lynch trainee had put in impressive works before this start to convince bettors to send her off as the favorite. She jumped out of the gate quickly to set an undisputed pace early with Mario Gutierrez aboard.

Safely ahead of the rest of the field in the stretch, she was geared down after entering the final furlong with a 3 ½ length margin. Coasting to the line, Hot and Dangerous won by 2 ¼ lengths to become her sire’s second juvenile winner in 24 hours and one of five winners for the stallion since Thursday.

Racing for Flying Dutchmen Breeding and Racing, the Murray Thoroughbreds-bred was sold by Stone Farm at Keeneland September.

This is the first foal out of winning Malibu Moon mare Windfall Profit. That mare is a half-sister to WAR FRONT’s Grade 3-placed Profiteer and out of multiple Grade 3 winner Hit It Rich. Hit It Rich is a half-sister to the multiple stakes winning Spanish Mission and to the dam of the stakes placed duo of Can Be Good and Can Approve

Hit It Rich is a granddaughter of Grade 3 winner Cuando Puede, who is a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Honey Ryder and two other stakes performers out of Cuando Quiere.

BLAME is the sire of 72% winners over his career with 52 stakes winners and 102 stakes performers led by six Grade 1 winners.
