FIRST SAMURAI SIRES FIRST WINNER

HORNBLOWER is the First Winner for multiple G1 winner FIRST SAMURAI. The dark bay colt earned his maiden special weight victory over six furlongs in the 1st race at Hastings Racecourse.

HORNBLOWER showed good early speed around the first turn and down the backstretch. Kept in the clear out in the three path, the dark bay colt swept to the lead around the final turn and bested the field to the wire, winning by a length and one-quarter.

Bred in Kentucky by Denlea Park, LTD, HORNBLOWER was produced by the Alysheba mare, Crown of Sheba. He is a half-brother to Grade 2 winner Spice Island, the dam of 2010 Florida Derby-G1 winner and Kentucky Derby-G1 runner-up Ice Box. He races for Swift Thoroughbreds, Inc. and he is trained by Dino Condilenios.
