Grade 1 winner ANNAPOLIS debuts his first yearlings this week at the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale when eight go through the ring in Lexington, Ky.
Of those eight set to sell, two are out of stakes winning mares (including one who produced her own stakes performer), two others are out of stakes performers, and one more is a half-sister to a stakes horses. Of the three other offerings, two are out of half-sisters to stakes winners or stakes placers.
The first yearling ANNAPOLIS to go through the ring is Hip 371 offered by Taylor Made Sales.
The March-born filly is out of the Grade 2 winner Ready to Act, who has three winners from five to race. Those runners include the Grade 3-placed Mubakker to make her a ninth-generation stakes producer. Ready to Act’s second dam is the Group 3 placed Nawal, who produced Grade 1 winners Mast Track and Jemayel among her four stakes performers.
In all, there are 13 stakes performers under this filly’s first three dams.
Hip 585 offered by Buckland Sales is the second foal out of the stakes placed Beantown Baby, who won seven races and set a course record at Colonial Downs.
Beantown Baby is a granddaughter of the Grade 3-placed Kiawah Cat and comes from an active page. Kiawah Cat still has runners with her stakes placed daughter Angel Kiss taking her earnings to $164,156 in 2025 and another runner adding a seventh victory to his record. Kiawah Cat is also the granddam of last year’s Laurel Futurity winner Proton. Last year’s Grade 2 placed Lemon Zest is also farther back in the family.
Hip 605 is an ANNAPOLIS filly consigned by Warrendale Sales as agent for Lazy Lane Farm.
The WAR FRONT cross has already proven to work for her winning dam Bonnie Rose with the mare’s best runner being the stakes placed Uncle Andrew, who by another WAR FRONT son. Bonnie Rose has produced three winners from six runners as one of eight winners out of her own dam. That mare’s runners are led by Group 2 winner Rixa and nine-time winner Hunterwood. Each of this filly’s first seven dams have produced at least one stakes performer with five producing stakes winners.
Glendalough at Dromoland is the consignor of Hip 847 offered on Tuesday.
The filly is out of the multiple stakes winning Moves Like Magic, who won five of her nine starts. She is the dam of one to race with that runner being the winning Magic Factor. Moves Like Magic is one of three stakes performers from six winners out of Schefflera, who also produced Moves Like Magic’s stakes winning full brother Run Carson and her stakes placed half-sister Hitthefloorrunning. This page is an active one with three runners under the filly’s first two dams winning in 2025, including the stakes winning Run Carson.
The Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale kicks off on Monday, January 12 with both sessions kicking off at 10am ET.
