The Hancock family’s Claiborne Farm, home of international super-sire War Front, announced 2019 stud fees for its roster to stand at the Paris, Ky.-based farm for the upcoming breeding season.
Among 12 stallions currently standing at Claiborne, War Front will remain at $250,000 next year. The leading sire by percentage of lifetime graded stakes winners, War Front has sired 29 stakes horses in 2018, including G1 winners U.S. Navy Flag, Lancaster Bomber, Fog of War, and Homesman. In addition to his stellar runners on the track, War Front’s yearlings have also impressed in the sales ring this year, bringing prices up to $2.4 million.
War Front is currently the leading active sire by stakes winners and grade 1 winners and is also the third-leading turf sire in North America.
Eclipse champion and three-time G1 winner Blame has also had a standout season at Claiborne, with 14 stakes winners to his credit in 2018, including G1 winners Fault and Marley’s Freedom. He currently ranks second in his crop by lifetime graded stakes horses behind Quality Road. Blame’s fee will be announced following the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
