BLAME Making Impact as High Quality Broodmare Sire

Proven to get breeders high-class, versatile runners as a sire, BLAME is quickly doing the same as a broodmare sire as the youngest stallion inside the top 45 on Thoroughbred Daily New’s Broodmare Sire list.

BLAME has made an immediate impact as a broodmare sire with 2021 seeing 42 of his daughters foals make at least one start – 21 more runners than last year. This year alone, those runners have also won six stakes between five of the runners, an 11.6% strike rate with BLAME’s stakes performers to runner rate at an outstanding 16.28%.

In the past two months alone, BLAME’s daughters have seen their runners win stakes in the United States, Canada, England and France. That group was led by Sacred’s victory in the BetVictor Hungerford Stakes (G2) with Bellharbour Music winning the Prix Daphnis (G3) in France.

In fact, those victories came during three weeks where BLAME registered at least one stakes winner a week out of his daughters, kicking off with Sacred. Bellharbour Music’s win came the following weekend before Rastafara rounded the month out at Saratoga with a win in the Riskaverse.

August was just the latest successful month for BLAME as a broodmare sire with the stallion also registering a Group 3 win by Sacred in April, a listed win by Padovana in June and two stakes performances in July.

Those July performances saw One Timer win the Listed Victoria Stakes by an easy 3 ¾ lengths. Two weeks before that win, BLAME registered his first Grade 1-placing as a broodmare sire when FIRST SAMURAI’s Antigravity was third in the Haskell Stakes (G1).

Antigravity is one of two stakes performers for BLAME daughters by Giant’s Causeway sons with Saratoga stakes winner Rastafara also by Giant’s Causeway’s Shamardal.

BLAME kicked off September the same way he left August – with a stakes performer. That runner came in the form of With Anticipation Stakes (G3) third Limited Liability, a Stuart Janney III homebred who broke his maiden by 2 ¾ lengths at Saratoga the same day One Timer won his stakes.

By Kitten’s Joy, Limited Liability is one of two stakes performers out of BLAME daughters and by El Prado-lined stallions alongside Bellharbour Music.

In all, BLAME’S 16.28% stakes performers is also higher than any broodmare sire in the top 10 by 2021 stakes winners or stakes horses. His five stakes winners also put him above stallions such as Tale of the Cat, Congrats, Scat Daddy, Ghostzapper, Gone West, El Prado and others in 2021.
