A BLAME filly offered by Crane Thoroughbred Services was in high demand at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-Year-Old Sale Tuesday when bringing $350,000 from Three Amigos.
Breezing in :10.1 during the breeze portion of last week’s Under Tack Sale, the filly named Blame Katie saw an update when her half-brother won after the catalog was released. That takes the filly to four winning siblings from four to race out of Collections Choice. A winning Bernardini mare, Collections Choice is a familiar broodmare to BLAME with two of her winners by the stallion.
Collections Choice is out of stakes winner and multiple Grade 1 placed Model and hails from the family of Grade 1 winner Preseli. Three of the four dams on this page have either won a stakes or produced stakes winners with eight stakes winners named on the page.
DAT Racing Stable purchased a $145,000 BLAME filly from Niall Brennan Stables late in the sale.
The filly is the second out of three-time winner Soliloquy. That mare is a half-sister to the stakes placed Dyani and five other winners out of Richer By Love. Richer By Love is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Perfect Drift and two other stakes performers out of the stakes winner Nice Gal.
Those under Nice Gal’s name include Grade 1 winner Force The Pass, multiple stakes winner and Grade 1 placed Wonder Gal, and Grade 3 winner Social Queen among others.
It’s no surprise that BLAME daughters are so in-demand at the sales. He is the sire of 31 stakes winning fillies, including five Grade 1 winners, with his daughters also producing 29 stakes winners and 14.3% stakes performers.
