ARCH’s GRAND ARCH Takes the King Edward-G2

Three-time graded-placed GRAND ARCH became his sire’s 32nd Graded Stakes Winner with a late rally to win Woodbine’s King Edward S.-G2. Rated early in this one mile turf event, the son of ARCH found an opening in mid-stretch and drove past the frontrunner to earn the win by 1/2 length. The final time was an extremely quick 1:32 2/5, less than a second off the course record set last year by Wise Dan. In 2013, GRAND ARCH placed in the Sky Classic S.-G2, the Nijinsky S.-G2, beaten only a length, and Churchill’s River City H.-G3. Bred in Kentucky by Hunter Valley Farm and S. Hillen out of the El Gran Senor mare, Bacinella, the very consistentGRAND ARCH is trained by Brian Lynch for Jim and Susan Hill and now has won or placed in all 14 starts, including four wins for earnings of $340,100.
