ANNAPOLIS Carries Momentum into Keeneland November

An active breeding stock sale season continues for ANNAPOLIS at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale when 17 weanlings by the stallion go through the ring starting a day after he was represented by a trio at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale.

Serendipity Farm offers Hip 1146, a half-sister to two stakes performers out of the winning Channel the Green the consignor co-bred with FrostFire Thoroughbreds.

That mare has seen four of her six runners visit the winner’s circle, led by the stakes winning My Girl Sky, who added a fourth win to her record in August. Half-brother Over The Channel was also stakes placed in his 29 career that saw him hit the board 16 times for $234,780 in earnings.

Channel The Green is one of six winners out of the multiple Grade 3 winning Grab The Green, whose top runner is Group 2 placed Nanton with her winners also including four-time winner Green Bluff. This family also includes the Grade 3 winners Rach The Top and Changing World with Group 1 placed Chiaroscuro under the weanling’s fourth dam.

Hailing from the family of champion National Treasure comes Hip 2481 offered by Hartwell Farm for Cave Brook Farm.

This March-born foal is the third out of winning Medaglia d’Oro mare Inspiring, who is one of seven winners out of her own dam. That six-time stakes winner is the Unbridled’s Song mare Inspired, who produced stakes winner and Grade 2 placed Carmel Road, Grade 3-placed Innovator, and the stakes placed Night Time Lady. Her seventh winner came in late June when Ambition won a Churchill Downs Maiden Special Weight with the 3-year-old most recently third in a Kentucky Downs Allowance.

There are multiple updates throughout this family, but the biggest comes from 2023 Canadian Champion 3-Year-Old Filly Elysian Field. Still active on the track, Elysian Field won the Seaway S. (G3) in late August for her third career stakes victory. National Treasure’s stakes winning half-brother Ultimate also won his 12^th race to lead the others with recent wins.

One of ANNAPOLIS’s last offerings at the sale is Hip 2596, the second foal out of Kitten’s Joy mare Paw Prints offered by co-breeder Wasabi Venture Sales. The consignor bred the colt out of Greenspring Mares and Ray Bauch.

Paw Prints is a half-sister to the Group 1 winner Announce, who produced a stakes performer in retirement. Another one of the colt’s dam’s half-siblings is Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed Mexican Gold with Paw Prints’ dam Hachita producing five stakes performers from her 10 winners. She is also the granddam of Grade 3 winner Final Gambit and stakes winner and Grade 3-placed Straight Answer.

Hachita is a daughter of a stakes winning full sister to European champion Zafonic and group 3 winner and Group 1-placed Zamindar among seven stakes performers out of Group 3 winner Zaizafon.

ANNAPOLIS’s first crop has already been well-received in his first breeding stock sale of the season with his first weanling offered bringing $130,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Fall Mixed Sale.
