DEMARCHELIER (GB) offers breeders a picture perfect pedigree. By international, multi-surface super-sire Dubawi (IRE) – who currently ranks #1 in the world by stakes winners this year – DEMARCHELIER (GB) is out of a full-sister to champions Yesterday (IRE) and Quarter Moon (IRE), the latter producing Grade 1 winner DiamondsandRubies (IRE).
But the list just goes on from there when you look under his third dam.
A total of ten Grade or Group 1 winners grace his immediate family under his first three dams, and countless graded stakes horses as well. Truly a powerhouse family that included last year’s undefeated Galileo Chrome (IRE) who took the Pertemps St. Leger (G1).
The most recent family member to join the growing list of Grade 1 winners is Alpinista (GB). A great-granddaughter of third dam Alruccaba (IRE), Alpinista (GB) is undefeated this year, culminating in a Group 1 victory in the Longines 131st Grosser Preis von Berlin on August 8th.
Hailing from such an accomplished female family, DEMARCHELIER (GB) looks to represent his sireline well, as Dubawi (IRE) has had another great year as a sire of sires, with accomplished grandsons as well.
Most notably his grandson Make Believe (GB) has sired the sensational Mishriff, who won both the Saudi Cup on dirt and Dubai Sheema Classic on turf this spring. Mishriff came back to win the Juddmonte International Stakes (G1) at York on August 18th.
Apart from grandson Make Believe (GB), Dubawi’s son Night of Thunder (IRE) sits second on Europe’s third-crop sire list, and leads Europe’s third-crop sires by number of lifetime stakes winners.
With both sides of his family pointing towards unlimited potential, DEMARCHELIER’S (GB) first weanlings will be offered this fall at the November breeding stock sales and will be ones to look for!
