ALBASHARAH Runner-up in John Musker Fillies’ S

Making her first start in 14 months, G2-placed ALBASHARAH rallied to finish runner-up in the EBF John Musker Fillies’ S. at Yarmouth. Racing 1 1/4 miles on a turf rated good, the daughter of ARCH lacked running room with a furlong to go, but got clear and charged to the wire beaten less than a length. The winner would eventually go on to finish third, beaten a 1/2 length, in the Prix de l’Opera Longines-G1 at Longchamp on Arc Day. Last year,ALBASHARAH placed in the Lancashire Oaks-G2 after taking the lead with a furlong to go and held on for third, beaten less than a length. That was only her fifth career start and only her second try in stakes competition. She won her first three career starts, including an eight-length score at 1 1/4 miles on the soft turf at Doncaster. ALBASHARAH became the 12th stakes horse of the year for ARCH.
