Coming off a runner-up finish in a stakes at Yarmouth last out, ALBASHARAH took the lead with four furlongs to go and won the Betfred Mobile Pride S. easily by 3 1/2 lengths. The daughter of ARCH was in good position in this large field of 17 as they raced into the mid stages of this 1 1/4-mile test on a turf course rated good at Newmarket. She asserted herself with a 1/2 mile to go and ran on strongly to the wire. In the EBF John Musker Fillies’ S. at Yarmouth in her last outing, ALBASHARAH was beaten less than a length to a horse that would eventually go on to finish third, beaten a 1/2 length, in the Prix de l’Opera Longines-G1. Last year,ALBASHARAH placed in the Lancashire Oaks-G2 after taking the lead with a furlong to go and held on for third, beaten less than a length. That was only her fifth career start and only her second try in stakes competition. The Darley-bred, Godolphin-raced mare won her first three career starts, including an eight-length score at 1 1/4 miles on the soft turf at Doncaster. Out of the stakes-winning, graded-placed Seeking the Gold mare, Desert Gold, ALBASHARAH now has four wins in eight starts and is the 53rd career stakes winner for ARCH.
