WAR FRONT and BLAME Make Impact at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga

It was a $300,000 filly for WAR FRONT at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale this week when offered by Indian Creek early in the first session.

Purchased by Claiborne Farm as agent, she come from a big family as a daughter of BLAME’s daughter Complicated. Complicated is also the dam of Grade 2 winner Honor D Lady and stakes winner Churchtown. Her Grade 1-placed 3-year-old daughter Simply In Front also provided a big update when she finished second in the Ontario Colleen (G3) after the catalog was released.

Both Churchtown and Simply In Front are three-quarters siblings to this yearling with both by WAR FRONT sons.

Complicated is out of the stakes winner and Grade 2-placed Consequence, a daughter of multiple Grade 1 winner Educated Risk and half-sister to stakes winner Strategy. Educated Risk’s branch of her family includes eight stakes winners and two other stakes performers.

WAR FRONT was also the damsire of Hip 182, a $750,000 filly purchased by Gainesway and Bradley Thoroughbreds from Scott Mallory. The filly is out of WAR FRONT’s Grade 3-placed Sustained.

Sustained has been a successful broodmare with four winners from four to race led by Grade 3 winner Turned Aside, stakes winner and Grade 2-placed Ethereal Road, and stakes placed Great Opportunity.

WAR FRONT has become a successful broodmare sire with his daughters’ 40 stakes winners and 76 stakes performers including multiple Grade 2 winners.

BLAME saw his son out of My Own Story sell for $160,000 to Christophe Clement late in the first session from the Bluegrass Thoroughbred Services consignment.

My Own Story was a two-time winner whose seven winners include the Grade 3 winner Real Story and stakes winner My Afleet. The mare is a half-sister to a stakes performer as well with her dam producing the stakes winning Voy Por Uno Mas.

Each of the four dams on the page produced at least one stakes performers with many seeing multiple daughters produce stakes performers as well.
