TDN Rising Star EXECUTIVEPRIVILEGE won for the second time in as many starts when she proved much the best in the six-furlong Landaluce S. on Hollywood Park’s all weather surface July 14. Sitting behind the leaders until the turn for home, this 2-year-old filly byFIRST SAMURAI split horses then dropped to the inside for the drive for home, pulling away in the final furlong to win easily by 3 1/4 lengths. The winning time was faster than that of the Hollywood Juvenile Championship S.-G3 for 2-year-old males run on the same card. This $650,000 OBS April sales topper cruised home in her debut to win by 4 1/2 lengths.
Trainer Bob Baffert said EXECUTIVEPRIVILEGE will likely return in the $150,000 Sorrento S.-G3 on August 8 at Del Mar if she’s handling the Polytrack. “The main thing is the Breeders’ Cup,” he said in reference to the Juvenile Fillies-G1 November 2 at Santa Anita. PLETHORA, a 3-year-old filly by FIRST SAMURAI won her stakes debut taking the inaugural running of the R. K. (Red) Smith H. July 14 She broke on top in this one mile dirt race at Northlands Park and never looked back. Three lengths in front at the top of the stretch, PLETHORA went on to win by 1 1/2 lengths. One race back, this Claiborne-bred filly also led wire-to-wire, winning a six-furlong allowance by the huge margin of 12 1/2 lengths.

And on July 15, 2-year-old GET HAPPY MISTER made it two for two, running away from the field to win the CTBA Futurity by 10 1/2 lengths. In this six-furlong dirt stakes at Arapahoe, this juvenile colt by FIRST SAMURAI took control of the race at the five sixteenths pole and then just drew off well in hand for his wide margin of victory. In his Maiden Special Weight debut, GET HAPPY MISTER wired the field winning a five-furlong event by 4 1/4 lengths.
