It was another sale that sawa juvenile by BLAME in demand when his colt out of Soul Spirit brought $485,000 at the OBS June 2-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age Sale from Clay Scherer.
Offered by Wavertree Stables, the colt named Periculum has been a popular offering in the sales ring each time he’s been offered. Originally offered at the 2021 Keeneland November Sale by Denali Stud for breeder Don Alberto, he was purchased by Sewanne Bloodstock for $190,000. The duo comes out of the dual Grade 1 placed Soul Search, who herself is a half-sister to the stakes winning Reform Act. Another one of Soul Search is the dam of BLAME’s Grade 1 winner Nadal, making this a proven cross.
“He was a big, strong colt who worked fast, did everything like you want to see here and he acted fresh every day,” Scherer told Thoroughbred Daily News.
CNA, Co. was the buyer of a $150,000 BLAME colt offered by Navas Equine earlier in the sale.

Another one of her siblings is the dam of Grade 3 winner We The People with all four horses out of Grade 1 winner Harmony Lodge.

His unraced dam is a half-sister to stakes winner and Grade 3 placed The Reds and Grade 2 placed Zee Drop from her Grade 2 placed dam’s six winners from six to race. That mare is also a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Wickedly Perfect, who produced Grade 2 winner Hartley, and to stakes winner Wicked Mizz.
