2YO GUDERIAN Away and Gone in MSW Win at Delaware

Making only his second career start after a runner-up finish at Pimlico, GUDERIAN proved much the best winning this Maiden Special Weight at Delaware Park by a comfortable three lengths. The 2-year-old colt by STROLL sprinted clear right out of the gate from the inside post and had four lengths on the field by the first quarter. He stretched that lead out to five lengths and then was ridden out to the wire as the heavy favorite. In his debut in a Maiden Special Weight at Pimlico, GUDERIAN finished in the runner-up spot to a next out stakes horse, and was 7 1/2 lengths in front of the third-place finisher in that race. Bred in Kentucky by E. H. Beau Lane III out of the Glitterman mare, Frillery, GUDERIAN was a $185,000 purchase out of this year’s OBS March 2YOs Select Sale by current owners Germania Farms, Inc.GUDERIAN proved his readiness for this score with a best out of 62 bullet work, four furlongs in :47.40, for trainer by Timothy Tullock, Jr.
