2YO FISH TRAPPE ROAD Wins Belmont MSW by Nearly 10 Lengths

Runner-up in a Maiden Special Weight at Saratoga to a next out stakes winner, FISH TRAPPE ROAD confirmed his quality with a runaway win in a seven-furlong Maiden Special Weight on a muddy track at Belmont Park. The 2-year-old colt from the first crop of TRAPPE SHOT bobbled at the start, but soon recovered to secure the lead after the first 1/8th mile. FISH TRAPPE ROAD was confronted by a challenger on the turn, put that one away and proceeded to widen his margin through the stretch to win by 9 3/4 lengths, geared down at the end. Bred by Rhapsody Farm LLC & Jon Davis out of the Cure the Blues mare Electric Shock, the $140,000 Saratoga New York Bred sales grad is trained by W. Bret Calhoun for owner Martin Racing Stable LLC.
