Weanling Duo Represent WAR OF WILL at Saratoga Fall Sale

Dual surface Grade 1 winner WAR OF WILL’s first weanlings make their sales ring appearance on October 17 with two on offer in Saratoga at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Fall Sale.

The duo kicks off with Hip 175 from breeder The New Hill Farm’s consignment out of Grade 3-placed Maid on a Mission. That mare is the dam of three foals older than this New York-bred, including an unraced 2-year-old named Empty Envelope and a yearling Hard Spun colt named Midnight Machine, who brought $80,000 at the Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Sale earlier this year.

There are eight stakes performers on the March 30-born colt’s page, led by stakes winner and multiple graded stakes placed Momsfurrari and stakes winners Far Out Favorite, Serve Notice, and Sweet Chrissy.

A little over 30 hips later is a colt from the RFHF Bloodstock consignment as Hip 209.

Bred in New York by 3C Stables, the colt is out of the winning Mizzen Mast mare Parol. That mare set a new course record at Gulfstream during her racing career and already has a placed runner from her first juvenile – MASTERY’s Shaymyname. Seeing the great Grade 1 winner and broodmare Preach as his fourth dam, this is an international family with the page including U.S. stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Endless Chatter and British stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Whitecliffsofdover. Also under Preach’s name is Claiborne’s late Grade 2 winner Pulpit and Grade 3 winner Wild Shot.

In all, there are seven stakes winners and 12 stakes performers named on the page under this colt’s first four dams.

WAR OF WILL himself was the winner of the Preakness Stakes (G1) at three before following that win up with a Maker’s Mark Mile (G1) win on the turf the following year.

The 2022 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Fall Sale takes place on October 17 in Saratoga Springs, starting at 10:00AM ET.
