The winners kept coming for DEMARCHELIER (GB) on Saturday when Watchtower won a Tampa Bay Maiden Special Weight.
Raced by DEMARCHELIER’s (GB) race connections of trainer Chad Brown and owner-breeder Peter Brant, Watchtower was among the first out of the gate in the one-mile turf race. The filly raced in third a few lengths off the leader as she tracked that runner a few paths wide before inching closer to the rail around the far turn.
Watchtower started her winning bid as the field passed the quarter pole and showed her determination in the stretch to get up and win going away by 1 ½ lengths as the race favorite.
Finishing in the top three in two of her three career starts, she is out of the multiple stakes placed Zloty.
That mare is the dam of four winners of four to race and is one of seven winners out of multiple graded stakes A.P. Reality. Each of Zloty’s first three dams have produced at least one stakes performer.
Watchtower is the fourth winner of the year for DEMARCHELIER (GB), putting him in first by number of winners in 2024 alongside studmate CATHOLIC BOY.
