Kenny McPeek was the buyer of a $230,000 WAR OF WILL filly at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings Sale to end the stallion’s second yearling sales season.
The Betz Thoroughbreds offering had plenty of updates throughout her page before selling to make her even more attractive than when entered.
Her dam Star Silver’s juvenile colt by Frosted won after the catalog was released to take her count to six winner from nine to run. Meanwhile, the yearling’s stakes winning half-sister Red Lodge saw daughter Manaal put up three more stakes placings in the last few months.
A Group 1 winner, Manaal won the Furious S. (G2) after the catalog came out before finishing third in two more Group 2s. Star Silver also produced the stakes winning Good Like Magic to have two stakes performers just like her dual Grade 1 winning half-sister Winter Memories.
Winter Memories is the best runner out of multiple Grade 1 winner Memories Of Silver, but that mare also produced three other stakes winners as a broodmare. Among those is the Grade 3 winning La Cloche, who not only produced another Grade 3 winner in Bellavais but is also the granddam of the stakes placed Ghostly Rose.
WAR OF WILL has proven to be a strong sire with his first crop of juveniles including three stakes placed runners and nine winners overall.
