Two New First Crop Winners for Champion BLAME

Making her second career start after a debut placing at Laurel in January, RACHEL WALL took the lead at the top of the stretch and won this Maiden Special Weight by 1 1/4 lengths. Going 1 1/16 miles on Pimlico’s main track, the 3-year-old filly stalked the pace in third until taking command with less than two furlongs to go and stayed in front to the wire. Bred by Stone Farm and John H. Adger out of the Malibu Moon mare Ocean Moon, RACHEL WALL is trained by Graham Motion for The Buttonwood Group.

And on Saturday, BLAME ME closed from far back to win this five-furlong Maiden test on Pimlico’s turf by 1 1/2 lengths. The 3-year-old colt was forced to steady because of tight quarters leaving the gate in a field of 12. BLAME ME was wide on the turn and closed down the lane to gain the lead in mid-stretch and drove to the wire for the win. Bred in Kentucky by John M. Tucker out of the Lite the Fuse mare Excellerant, the Dane Kobiskie trainee for PTK, LLC was making only his third career start.
