Two New 2YO Debut MSW Winners at Saratoga and Arlington Park

At Saratoga, WIDTH made a successful debut taking a 5 1/2-furlong Maiden Special Weight by 2 1/2 lengths. The newly acclaimed TDN Rising Star became the second juvenile by BLAME this year to be named as such. The Claiborne Farm and Adele Dilschneider homebred raced off the pace early on. She began to move on the leaders around the turn, took the lead at the top of the stretch and pulled away for an impressive win. She showed her readiness for the debut with a bullet four-furlong work in :48 1/5 on August 9th. Out of the Pulpit mare Extent, the Christophe Clement trainee is a half-sister to GSW Size (by FIRST SAMURAI). Her second dam is the stakes-winning, multiple stakes producer Limit, and her third dam is the outstanding Bound, full sister to Number and half-sister to Champion Nureyev.

At Arlington, NOBODY’S FAULT got her career off to a good start taking a one mile Maiden Special Weight on the turf by a nose. The Lothenbach Stables homebred raced no more than 2 1/2 lengths off the lead for most of the way. She swung off the rail around the far turn, split rivals in the stretch and ran down the leader in the final stages to get the win. Out of the Valid Appeal mare Appealing Storm, NOBODY’S FAULT, who is trained by Chris Block, also showed her readiness to start with a solid five-furlong breeze in 1:01 4/5 in her last work on August 3rd.
