It was an impressive Maiden Special Weight victory for RUNHAPPY’s Lobby Rendezvous at Saratoga on Thursday with the filly winning by 3 ¼ lengths.
Kicking off the Saratoga meet in a 1 1/8-mile dirt race, Lobby Rendezvous broke from the inside gate and settled in third a few lengths off the lead. Jockey Jose Ortiz piloted her off the rail around the turn to send her through a hole going into the stretch.
She proved to be much the best in the final furlong when Ortiz put his whip away and let the filly race to the line at her own pace.
A homebred for Ten Strike Racing, she has finished in the top two in her last two starts and is out of Ten Strike Racing’s multiple stakes winning Lucky Move.
This is the first foal out of that mare, who’s granddam is a half-sister to the Grade I winning Hail A Cab. That mare produced champion Islam and the dam of stakes winning Well Positioned. This page also includes champion Simply Lovely.
Lobby Rendezvous has a 2-year-old BLAME half-brother named Brother Energy.
