NORTHERN PASSION RALLIES IN WOODBINE STAKES

Making only the third start of her 4-year-old campaign, NORTHERN PASSION was victorious in Woodbine’s Zadracarta S. Racing seven furlongs on the turf, the daughter of FIRST SAMURAI raced midpack after breaking from the inside post in a field of nine. Angling out nearing the top of the stretch, NORTHERN PASSION was put to a drive and got up in time for the win. In her two prior starts this year, she placed in the Nassau S.-G2 after a troubled start and, was beaten less than two lengths in the Whimsical S.-G3, finishing fourth, also after a troubled beginning.

NORTHERN PASSION
won the Natalma S.-G3 at two, the $150,000 Fury S. at 3, and also was runner-up in the $500,000 Woodbine Oaks, beaten less than a length. A $95,000 Claiborne Sales graduate out of their 2010 Keeneland September consignment and a $220,000 OBS March 2-year-old Select Sale purchase, she races for John C. Oxley and is trained by Mark Casse.
