HORSE GREELEY’s CLEARLY NOW Sets NTR in Belmont Sprint Championship-G3

A multiple Graded stakes winner last year, CLEARLY NOW proved he is one of the top sprinters in the country with his new track record performance winning the Belmont Sprint Championship S.-G3 by 6 1/4 lengths. Sitting just off the leaders for the first half, the 4-year-old colt by HORSE GREELEY angled out three wide into the stretch, caught the leaders with a furlong to go and then quickly accelerated away for the final margin of victory. The final time was sparkling 1:19 4/5. In his seasonal debut the Claiborne Farm-bred CLEARLY NOW, who is out of the ARCH mare Bend, put in a solid performance to place in the $500,000 Carter H.-G1. In 2013, he won the G3 Swale S. and the G3 Bold Ruler H. (109 Beyer) The Brian Lynch trainee for owner Up Hill Stable now has five wins, eight placings in 15 starts and earnings of over $886,927.

The 112 Beyer CLEARLY NOW registered in the Sprint Championship is the highest Beyer for seven furlongs this year, and only one below Palace Malice’s 113 for races up to one mile on the main track.
