FIRST SAMURAI’S TRUBS BATTLES IN SUPER DERBY PRELUDE S.

TRUBS, a 3-year-old son of FIRST SAMURAI, earned his second black-type victory August 6th in the Super Derby Prelude S. at Louisiana Downs. During the 1 1/6 mile race, TRUBSpatiently positioned just behind the pace to the inside. Into the stretch he drove to the front, and when challenged kicked into gear to post a game win in the final stages for trainer Al Stall, Jr. In February TRUBS collected his first stakes victory in the Black Gold S. at the Fair Grounds. His earnings have now reached $166,975.

Bred by Claiborne Farm and Adele B. Dilschneider, TRUBS is out of the Seeking the Gold mare Hit. Second year sire FIRST SAMURAI is the sire of seven stakes horses including three stakes winners this year. Among them is G2 Woody Stephens S. winner JUSTIN PHILLIP.
