El Consistente First Stakes Winner for SILVER STATE

It was a SILVER STATE stakes winner when El Consistente won his third consecutive race in the Clasico Angel Tomas Cordero Jr. S. (PR-G2).

Making easy work of the fields he’s faced this year, this seven-furlong dirt stakes was no different with the colt going off as the favorite.

Pushing an early leader, El Consistente took over quickly and it was easy going from there. Once he had the lead, he continued to extend it with every stride to be 5 ½ lengths in front with a furlong left to run. Left to his own devices late, El Consistente eased down just a touch to win by five lengths at the line.

Trained by Eric Betancourt for Denian Stable, El Consistente has won three of his four starts by a combined 15 ½ lengths.

The Forever Spring Farm bred is the first foal out of a half-sister to stakes winner and Grade 1 placed Hidden Message and seven other winners from nine to race out of stakes winner Secret Charm. Secret Charm is one of three stakes performers out of her own dam alongside stakes winner and Epsom Oaks (G1) third Relish The Thought. That mare produced three stakes performers and a stakes producer from her own foals.

This family also includes Grade 1 winner Gozzip Girl among others.

The last few weeks have been good ones for SILVER STATE with the stallion doubling up on Maiden Special Weight winners in late October.
