BLAME’s MARCH Holds Off Challenger to Win Grade 3 Bay Shore

MARCH won for the second time in four career starts taking Aqueduct’s Bay Shore S.-G3 by 1/2 length. Last after the first quarter in this seven-furlong event, the 3-year-old colt from the first crop of Champion BLAME began his rally midway through the turn. He went four wide into the lane, continued to close through the stretch taking the lead with a furlong to go, and held an outside closer at bay to become BLAME’s fifth Graded stakes horse from his first crop. Trained by Chad Brown for owner Robert LaPenta, the $320,000 Keeneland November 2012 weanling purchase won a Maiden Special Weight here in January. MARCH was bred in Kentucky by Lakland Farm out of the Unbridled’s Song mare, Lifeinthefastlane.
