Blame’s Fee Set at $30,000

Claiborne Farm announced Nov. 5 that three-time Grade 1 winner and Eclipse Champion Blame will stand for $30,000 in 2019.

Led by Grade 1 winners Fault and Marley’s Freedom, Blame has distinguished himself among the breakout sires of 2018. His 13 stakes winners this year include other graded stakes victors Maraud, Miss Kentucky, and Beyond Blame.

Blame currently ranks #2 in his crop by lifetime Stakes Horses and Graded Stakes Horses behind Quality Road, who stands for $150,000.

This year, Blame ranks among the nation’s top stallions with 27 Stakes Horses, five Graded Stakes winners, 14 Graded Stakes Horses, two Grade 1 Winners, and three Grade 1 Stakes Horses.

He also sired 17 stakes horses in 2017, including French Classic winner Senga.

Blame has additionally had a standout season in the auction ring, highlighted by the $1.2-million sale of his Grade 1-winning daughter Fault to Shadai Farm at the recent Fasig-Tipton November Sale.
