BAFFLE ME WINS HER THIRD STRAIGHT STAKES

This 4-year-old filly by FIRST SAMURAI notched her third consecutive stakes tally with a win in Gulfstream Park’s $100,000 South Beach S. Racing 7 1/2 furlongs on the turf, BAFFLE MEbroke alertly and pressed the pace early on in second. She began to move closer to the frontrunner on the final turn, battled with that one in upper stretch, then edged away and held a late closer at bay to win by 1/2 length. BAFFLE ME has learned to press the pace instead of setting it which has allowed her to also win the Jazzy S. in September and the Finney S. in October, both at Belmont Park. Out of the Awesome Again mare, Wonderously, and bred in Kentucky by the Peter J. Callahan Revocable Trust Dated 2/28/02, BAFFLE ME races for Lee R. Lewis and is trained by Mark Hennig. She now has seven wins and earnings of $427,556.
