It was another stakes win for SILVER STATE’s El Consistente on Sunday when the juvenile won the Clasico Agustin Mercado Reveron S. (PR-G1) by an easy 8 ¼ lengths.
Coming into this race off an easy win in a local Grade 2, El Consistente raced a few paths wide in the 1 1/16-mile dirt race after breaking from one of the outside gates and tracked the leader around the first turn. As they straightened into the backstretch, he was at that one’s saddle cloth before flying past him.
Comfortably held by J.C. Diaz Jr., El Consistente pulled away as they entered the turn and looked like he was out for an easy breeze coming into the stretch. His jockey gave him a few taps to keep him focused late, but there was no true risk for El Consistente as he flashed under the wire well ahead of everyone.
El Consistente had now won his last four starts by a combined 23 ¾ lengths with his only defeat coming in his debut.
The SILVER STATE son is trained by Eric Beancourt for Denian Stable, who purchased him in March at OBS. It was the third time through the ring for the Forever Spring Farm-bred, who sold each time he entered the ring.
El Consistente is the first foal out of a Munnings half-sister to stakes winner and Grade 1 placed Hidden Message and seven other winners from nine to race out of stakes winner Secret Charm. A stakes winner in England and stakes placed in the U.S., Secret Charm is one of three stakes performers out of her own dam alongside stakes winner and Epsom Oaks (G1) third Relish The Thought.
Relish The Thought is also a successful broodmare as the dam of three stakes performers and a stakes producer from her own foals. There’s success throughout the family with the group led by Grade 1 winner Gozzip Girl.
SILVER STATE is the sire of two stakes performers and a stakes winner with the stallion having 11 winners overall from his first crop.
