Algorithms, the undefeated Graded Stakes-winning son of Bernardini added another stakes horse to his young sire record with a runner-up finish by Bay Numbers in the Tyro Stakes at Monmouth Aug 7.
Bay Numbers broke his maiden earlier this summer with an impressive 6 1/4 length score at Monmouth. In his first trial among Graded Stakes company, the 2-year-old son of Algorithms out of Zawzooth (Unbridled’s Song) ran 5th in the Sanford Stakes (G3) after being bumped and stumbling near the starting gate. Bay Number is owned by Live Oak Plantation, who purchased the colt for $180,000 at this year’s Fasig-Tipton Florida Sale.
Bay Numbers became the 3rd stakes horse for Algorithms, who is now the Leading Freshman Sire by Winners (6) and Stakes Horses (3). He has 6 winners from 12 starters. Additionally, he is represented by Junket (2nd Victoria Stakes) and TDN Rising Star Recruiting Ready (winner and 2nd in the G3 Bashford Manor).
