BLAME Colt Sells for $400,000 at Fasig-Tipton Midlantic

Finding success with BLAME runners on the track, bloodstock agent Dennis O’Neill put his name on the ticket for another potential star this week when going to $400,000 to purchase a BLAME colt at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale.

Bred by Pope, Marc, and Pope McLean Jr. in Kentucky, the Top Line Sales offering sold at Keeneland September through coming through the ring here. He is a half-brother to four winners from five to race out of Silent Bond with that mare’s runners combining for 12 wins between them.

Silent Bond is a half-sister to the stakes-winning Winsome, who is the granddam of multiple stakes winners, and to the dams of the stakes winning Shamandar, Hung Parliament, and Lorena among others. This is also the family of Horse of the Year Authentic and Grade 1 winners Seventh Street, Reynaldothewizard, and Undrafted, among others.

BLAME is having another exciting year as a sire and broodmare sire with his runners including Kentucky Derby (G1) runner Epic Ride and daughters’ runners including Grade 2 winners Switzerland and Tiny Temper.
