In the last three days, Freshman sire BLAME was represented by three new first-crop 2-year-old winners, all in Maiden Special Weight company. On Friday, DON’T BLAME ME went wire to wire to win this one mile test at Santa Anita by an impressive 5 3/4 lengths, getting the distance in a quick 1:35 3/5. Out of Forestier, by Forestry, the filly was bred by Alan S. Kline Revocable Trust and is owned by Alan S. Kline & American Equistock Racing Inc. and trained by Kristin Mulhall.
On Saturday, HONEST set the pace and drew clear by two lengths in this 5 1/2-furlong event at Monmouth Park. It was the second start for this colt who was a $240,000 sales grad out of this year’s OBS March Select sale. Racing for Trilogy Stable & Laurie Plesa, the Eddie Plesa Jr. trainee was bred by Castleton Lyons & Kilboy Estate.
And on Sunday, NO FAULT OF MINE won an impressive debut taking a seven-furlong race by 4 1/2 lengths on the all weather at Arlington Park. The Lothenbach Stables homebred trained by Chris Block broke a little slow but moved up on the backstretch and around the turn. NO FAULT OF MINE collared the leader with a furlong to go and drew clear to the wire. The filly is the first foal out of the Graded stakes-winning FLATTER mare, Single Solution.
