STACKED DECK Becomes Newest Graded Stakes Horse at Woodbine

Stakes winner STACKED DECK put in a game effort to place in the Grade 2 King Edward S. at Woodbine. The 4-year-old son of FIRST SAMURAI set the pace in this one mile turf event after breaking from post seven. He set fractions of :23 1/5 for the quarter, :45 for the half and ran a sizzling 1:08 for six furlongs. The torrid pace eventually caught up with him in the final eighth but only lost by less than three lengths. The final time of the race was 1:32 2/5, less than 4/5 second off the course record. The Bruce Lunsford homebred won the Charlie Barley S. in his first start of 2014. The Barbara Minshall trainee is the 14th stakes horse this year for FIRST SAMURAI and his newest Graded stakes horse.
