Call The Ball Third Winner of Week For DEMARCHELIER (GB)

It was a third winner in the last five days for DEMARCHELIER (GB) on Wednesday when Call The Ball won on debut at Presque Isle Downs.

Racing as a homebred for The Elkstone Group, Call The Ball was hustled out of the gate in the 5 ½ furlong race on the All Weather track by jockey Huber Villa-Gomez. Another horse pressured the gelding early, but he handled it well for the first half of the race. As they raced into the stretch, Call The Ball started to pull away from the field.

Kept focused by Villa-Gomez, he built his margin to 2 ¾ lengths by the time he hit the wire.

Trained by Ron Potts, Call The Ball is the second winner out of the multiple stakes placed Kawfee Fa Marfa.

That mare is one of two stakes performers out of the multiple stakes winning Idealistic Cause, who also produced Joe Hirsch Turf Classic (G1) winner Interpatation.

Call The Ball is bred on the same Dubawi (Ire) son x Danzig granddaughter cross as multiple Group 1 winner Highfield Princess and Group 1 winner Bayside Boy among the five stakes winners and 10 stakes performers from 193 runners.

DEMARCHELIER (GB) is now the sire of six winners, putting him ninth among all freshman sires. Nearly every stallion ahead of him has well over 10 more runners than the son of sire-of-sires Dubawi (Ire).
