WAR OF WILL’s First Yearlings Set for Keeneland January

An exciting 2023 kicks off for WAR OF WILL early in the yearwith eight of his first yearlings set to make their mark on the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale. Those yearlings come after his first weanlings sold for up to $280,000 at the November breeding stock sales with his median sitting at $90,000 for 21 sold from 28 offered.

The first WAR OF WILL offering is Hip 75 from the Denali Stud consignment. Already named Areyougoingwithme, the Wind Hill Farm-bred colt is a half-brother to the multiple graded stakes placed Dream Marie from his dam Lin Marie’s only foal to race. A multiple winning Curlin mare, Lin Marie is a daughter of multiple stakes winner Coy Cat and a half-sister to two stakes performers.

Areyougoingwithme’s page is full of stakes form with 14 stakes performers named under his first four dams and his fourth dam being the Grade 3 winner Her Royalty.

Hip 675 consigned by Mulholland Springs is a half-brother to multiple graded stakes placed Tiny Tina, Grade 3 placed Flatter Up, and stakes placed Numero Seis.

Bred by Forty Oaks, the colt is out of Tenacious Tina, who is the dam of four winners from six to race. A four-time winner herself, Tenacious Tina is one of eight winners out of her own dam led by Grade 1 winner Midnight Storm. Each of the colt’s first three dams are stakes performers with his second and third dams producing stakes winners while his fourth dam is the stakes placed Khal On Me.

Scott Mallory-consigned Hip 777 is a daughter of Brazilian champion Colina Verde. A multiple Grade 1 winning mare, Colina Verde has also turned into a successful broodmare with four winners including Grade 1 winner Greenzapper and multiple graded stakes placed Limonite. Another one of Colina Verde’s daughters is the dam of multiple graded stakes placed Malibu Mambo.

Other stakes performers among the those listed under this filly’s first three dams are Grade 1 winner Subaru Purple, Grade 2 winner Abracado, and Grade 1-placed Fleur Delacour.

Hip 957 goes through the ring with Taylor Made and is out of the four-time winner Miss Luna, who has already produced four-time winner Erzulie. Miss Luna is one of seven winners out of her stakes winning and Grade 1 placed dam In Her Glory. In Her Glory has also produced stakes performers Seattle Glory and Combanchera.

In Her Glory is also the dam of five stakes performers with that group including Sambuca Classica, the dam of champion Classic Empire. Among the other stakes performers produced by her daughters are stakes winners Bay Park Boy and Bronx Beauty and Grade 2 placed His Glory.

Starting on January 9, the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale runs through January 12 with WAR OF WILL having yearlings cataloged each day. Each session starts at 10:00 a.m. ET.
