BLAME Juvenile Impressive Winner on Breeders’ Cup Friday

BLAME’s Forgive Me made a big splash on Friday’s Breeders’ Cup undercard when the 2-year-old Godolphin homebred came home in front in a Keeneland Maiden Special Weight.

Making her second start in the seven-furlong dirt race, Forgive Me was one of the first out of the gate and had the early lead before another horse stuck her neck in front.

Going into the far turn, it was a three-horse battle for command with Forgive Me racing in the middle of the trio. Forgive Me started pulling ahead as they raced into the final furlong and had a clear lead racing toward the wire.

Her Brendan Walsh stablemate Ohana Lulu tried to ruin the party but Forgive Me wasn’t going to bow down and won by a length as they crossed the line.

Forgive Me is the second winner from two to race out of the stakes winning Sunset Wish, who is a granddaughter of Grade 1 winner Cara Rafaela. Sunset Wish is also a half-sister to the dam of stakes winner Neural Network and is out of Burgundy Ice, a full sister to Grade 1-placed Ile de France, who produced dual Grade 1 winner Love and Pride.

Burgundy Ice is also a half-sister to champion and successful sire Bernardini and multiple stakes producers.

Sunset Wish produced a colt by BLAME last year as well. This is the 124th lifetime juvenile winner for BLAME with eight of those winning 2-year-old stakes.
