The only BLAME filly in the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale was unsurprisingly a popular offering with Case Clay Thoroughbreds coming away with the filly on a $375,000 bid.
Offered by Machmer Hall Sales and bred by Raphie Bloodstock Trust, the filly is the first foal out of the stakes winner Spanish Honey, who won six of her races, highlighted by a Germany stakes victory. The filly is from a very well-known American family with her dam a granddaughter of multiple stakes winner Justenuffheart.
Justenuffheart is a half-sister to champion and successful sire Kitten’s Joy and Grade 1 winner Precious Kitten and she herself was also an excellent racemare with eight wins. But even more importantly, she was also a successful broodmare.
The mare’s best runner was champion Dreaming Of Anna, but that mare was also the dam of Grade 2 winners Lewis Michael and Justenuffhumor. Three of her daughters also produced stakes winners with Dreaming Of Anna’s four stakes horses including Grade 3 winner Dreamologist and Justenufftime the dam of Cassatt.
It’s been a big month for BLAME, whose daughter Explora won the Test S. (G1) on Saturday.
