BLAME’s Blame J D Takes Home Rainbow Stakes

Three-year-old Blame J D became the newest stakes winner for BLAME on Friday with a victory in the Rainbow Stakes at Oaklawn Park in his fourth career start.

Breaking smoothly, Blame J D was first out of the gate before the James Matheney Jr. homebred settled into third a few lengths off the pacesetter. Around the turn, Blame J D made his move and entered the stretch in a three-way battle for the lead.

With jockey Ramon Vazquez asking him to pick up the pace, Blame J D raced away from the other two to win by an easy 3 ¾ lengths for his second career win.

Trained by Aidan Green, Blame J D crossed over the $155,000 earnings mark with the Rainbow Stakes victory. Making all four of his career starts this winter at Oaklawn, he’s placed in the top three in three of his races.

Blame J D is the first stakes winner for the three-time winning Tipping Point, who has produced four winners from four to race. Tipping Point is out of stakes-placed Academy Brass, who is one of three stakes horses for her own dam alongside stakes winners Seaton Delaval and Fluffins.

This is also the family of Champion 2-Year-Old Filly Halfbridled and Grade I winners Spruce Needles and Mshawish among others.

Blame J D is the 32nd stakes winner for BLAME from only 406 runners with the stallion sitting at 15.76% stakes winners from his first seven crops.
