Military Style, a two-year-old debut winning son of Claiborne’s WAR FRONT, emerged victoriously in the Group 3 Japan Racing Association Tyros Stakes at Leopardstown on August 6th for trainer Aiden O’Brien.
Going seven furlongs with Emmet McNamara up, Military Style led the field as they approached the straight. He was hard pressed in the final furlong, but crossed the wire a neck ahead in a final time of 1:28.07.
Bred in Kentucky by Orpendale, Chelston & Wynatt, Military Style is out of the Galileo mare Together Forever (IRE). The colt is owned by Mrs. John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith.
This victory marks the 50th lifetime graded stakes win and the second two-year-old stakes winner in 2020 for international super sire WAR FRONT, more than any other North American sire. Battleground, who is also out of a Galileo mare (Found (IRE)) and conditioned by Aiden O’Brien, became the first 2YO graded stakes winner for WAR FRONT on July 28th in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood.
