3YO MARCH Prevails in Aqueduct MSW

Making just his second start after a runner-up finish to a next out stakes horse, MARCH dug in to fend off a challenger and won this Maiden Special Weight at Aqueduct by a neck. Stretching out to two turns in this start, the 3-year-old colt from the first crop of Champion BLAME sat in a stalking position until reaching the final turn. MARCH ranged up to join the leader around the turn, took control shortly after turning for home, opened up two lengths in the stretch and then dug in to earn the win. Bred in Kentucky by Lakland Farm out of the Unbridled’s Song mare, Lifeinthefastlane, MARCH was a $320,000 weanling purchase on the second day of the 2012 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale. In that sale, BLAME led all first crop sires by average and median. MARCH is trained by Chad Brown for owner Robert LaPenta.
