CHIDE became BLAME’s sixth Graded stakes horse from his first crop when she rallied from more than 10 lengths back to place in the Mother Goose S.-G1 in her stakes debut. The 3-year-old filly sat near the back for the first 1/2 mile in a field of 10 going 1 1/16 miles on Belmont’s main track. Going into the final turn, CHIDE was forced to go five wide, then went seven wide into the stretch and continued to close through the lane and just got nosed out for the runner-up spot. The Claiborne Farm and Adele Dilschneider homebred was coming off an allowance win at Churchill at the end of May in her third start. She also was a Maiden Special Weight debut winner at Oaklawn Park in March. BLAME leads all second crop sires by number of Graded stakes horses.
