1st Crop 2YO FAR FROM OVER Wins Debut at Aqueduct

Making his debut for trainer Todd Pletcher and owner Black Rock Thoroughbreds, FAR FROM OVER battled to the wire to get the win in this one mile & 70-yard Maiden Special Weight at Aqueduct. The son of BLAME was up close from the start and gained a narrow lead with about a 1/2 mile to go. He battled head to head around the far turn, lost the lead to that foe in mid-stretch but dug in and battled to the wire to get the victory by a nose. FAR FROM OVER, who was bred by Alexander Groves Matz, LLC out of the graded-placed Alchemist, by A.P. Indy, sold for $550,000 at last year’s Keeneland September sale, the highest priced yearling by all first-crop sires in 2013.
