WAR OF WILL’s stakes placedWar Signal visited the winner’s circle for the second straight time on Sunday with a Gulfstream Park Allowance victory.
Making her first start since breaking her maiden at Woodbine last month, the Gary Barber homebred easily went to the lead in the one-mile synthetic race and showed why she was the race favorite. She never opened multiple lengths on the field as she set the pace but after being challenged in the turn, got down to business.
Shaking off her rival in upper stretch, War Signal raced home to a 2 ¼ length victory to take her record to two wins and a third-place finish in the Shady Well Stakes in four starts.
The Mark Casse trainee is one of three winners out of the Grade 3 winning Uchenna. Uchenna is out of another stakes producer in Grade 2 winner Uriah, whose other blacktype earners are the stakes winning King Dancer and stakes placed Unleashed. She is also the granddam of the multiple stakes placed City of Stars.
Uchenna has a juvenile WAR OF WILL colt named Will Win and a yearling colt by the stallion as well.
WAR OF WILL ended 2024 with 19 winners and six stakes performers, led by a stakes winner.
