A narrow runner-up finish last out in Golden Gate’s Golden Poppy S., THEATRE STAR shipped East to capture her first stakes taking Delaware’s second division of the Justakiss S. by 1 1/4 lengths. The daughter of WAR FRONT tracked the pacesetter in second for the first six furlongs in a field of 10 going 1 1/16 miles on turf. THEATRE STAR took command of the race midway on the far turn and never was threatened from there on. Bred by Claiborne Farm and Adele Dilschneider out of Comedy, by Theatrical (IRE), the 38th career stakes winner for WAR FRONT also owns on-the-board finishes in last year’s Wilshire S.-G3 and in the Las Cienegas S.-G3 on the downhill turf course at Santa Anita this April. THEATRE STAR is a half-sister to TARIS (by FLATTER) who won four of six starts, including a track record performance winning Keeneland’s Raven Run S.-G2 by nine lengths.
