Taris (Flatter) dominates G1 Humana Distaff

Taris drew off to a 5 3/4 length victory in the G1 Humana Distaff at Churchill Downs on Derby Day. The win pushed her career earnings over $1-million.

The talented daughter of FLATTER completed the seven furlongs in 1:21.03 for owners Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith, and John Mangier. Taris, purchased for $2.35 million by Callaghan at the 2014 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November sale, now has 8 wins and on the board in 12 of 13 career starts. Earlier this year, she won the La Canada Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita and was runner-up in the G1 Santa Margarita.

The Humana Distaff was the 5th Graded Stakes win of her career.

Flatter has sired 10 Stakes Horses in 2016, including Graded Stakes winners Taris, Upstart, Kobe’s Back, and Ami’s Flatter. He is currently ranked #6 among all stallions by North American Earnings.
