SPECIAL ENVOY Sets NCR in Tampa Bay Allowance Win

SPECIAL ENVOY won his second straight start and, in the process, set a new course record winning a 1 1/8-mile turf allowance at Tampa Bay Downs. The 4-year-old son from STROLL’s first crop since his return to the U.S. raced behind the leaders no more than 3 1/2 lengths from the front in a nine-horse field. SPECIAL ENVOY began his move on the far turn, swung three wide turning for home and continued his rally to the wire. The new course record was more than two seconds faster than the previous record. The Mr. & Mrs. Bertram R. Firestone homebred now has three wins and three placings from seven career starts. In his last start, he was a four-length winner also on the Tampa Bay turf.
