SKYLANDER GIRL Handily Wins Woodbine’s Hendrie S.-G3

Runner-up in Graded events at Gulfstream Park and here already this year, SKYLANDER GIRL won her third stakes and first Graded test taking Woodbine’s Hendrie S.-G3 by 3 1/2 lengths. The 4-year-old filly by STROLL pressed the pace for the opening quarter racing 6 1/2 furlongs on the all-weather track. She took over the lead going into the turn, had a 4 1/2-length advantage near the top of the stretch and maintained a comfortable cushion to the wire. This year SKYLANDER GIRL was runner-up in the Marshua’s River S.-G3 and Whimsical S.-G3. A multiple stakes winner as a juvenile, she has now won or placed in 10 stakes, finishing runner-up five times, including the Wonder Where S., considered one of the Canadian Triple Tiara races for 3-year-old fillies, to eventual 2014 multiple Canadian Champion and Horse of the Year Lexie Lou. Bred by Bruce and Jennifer Henry’s Auchamore Stud, SKYLANDER GIRL, who has earnings of $556,721, is owned and trained by Alexander P. Patykewich.
