RUNHAPPY’s My Alluring Lady led home a Claiborne-sired 1-2 on Sunday when she finished 1 ¼ lengths ahead of BLAME’s Blame It On Mary in an Aqueduct Maiden Special Weight.
Facing a field of fellow New York-breds in her second start, My Alluring Lady raced a close second just in front of Blame It On Mary down the backstretch. Around the turn, My Alluring Lady made her move to challenge Hip Number One and never gave that runner a break to take the lead in the final furlong.
Blame It On Mary was next to pass that longtime leader when finishing 1 ¼ lengths length behind My Alluring Lady.
A $300,000 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Preferred New York-Breds purchase by Reeves Racing and R.A. Hill Stables, My Alluring Lady’s ownership was joined by trainer Danny Gargan for her racing career.
Bred by Billy Terrell and Boyd T Browning Jr, the filly is out of the stakes-placed Curlin mare Charismata. The dam of two winners from two to race, Charismata is also a half-sister to stakes winner Little Dancer and from the family of dual Grade 1 winner General Quarters and Grade 2 winners Composer, A Shin Top, King Ivor and Unitarian.
My Alluring Lady is the 11th winner for Runhappy, who is also the sire of stakes placed and impressive Churchill Downs winner Runway Magic.
