A RUNHAPPY juvenile made a big impression on Keeneland’s closing day Friday with Storm Cloud Rising registering a five-length victory in her second start.
Trained by Jesus Esquivel for owner-breeder Bryan Carney, the filly was quick out of the gate in the rain when breaking from a wide post. Dueling early, she stuck her head in front in the turn and it wasn’t long before the other runner started to fade.
Jockey Santo Sanjur didn’t do much to convince his filly to fly with Storm Cloud Rising easily pulling away to her five-length win.
Storm Cloud Rising is a full sister to RUNHAPPY’s stakes placed Prince Of Power and one other winner out of Demigoddess, who has three foal to race.
Demigoddess is a half-sister to the stakes winning Bootleggers Wife and out of multiple stakes winner La Chica Sensual. The page also includes Grade 1 winners Miss Kin, Vettori Kin, and Parapatibum.
RUNHAPPY is the sire of 17 stakes winners and 29 stakes performers with 70% winners to runners as well.
